How to grow basil from fresh basil pieces

How to grow basil from basil pieces inside your home!!!

On November 9 2015 we to have pho (Vietnamese soup) we had got it to go so they give you everything to go including the cilantro and basil.

I decided I was going to experiment and see if I could grow the cilantro or basil in my kitchen under my window. I filled up the tunes with water and put the reminding cilantro and basil in the tubes.

Care:
I opened the window blinds every now and then to get them light and about once a week I emptied out the water and put fresh water. About the need of November now December the water has begun to get real low, I think because the roots are pulling the water. So when I see it low I fill it with water.

Results:
Put in water November 9 2015 today is December 10 2015 and the roots are insane!! So long. The cilantro died so now I'm trying to get the roots to pop on the avocado.
I'll keep you posted.
The basil has grown not only roots but little flowers have bloomed and small leaves are popping out. I have cut a few leaves off to use in meals and doesn't seem to hurt it.
I love to see what's new on the plants and so do my kids.
It's exciting and well it's free and easy to grow in my house.
