Trying to get ready with daughters?!?

-Playtime for kiddos Getting Ready Time for Mommy-

 

So what I've noticed and has been a huge challenge for me, is when its a late afternoon shift for work or the weekend and daddy is away at work or busy, my daughters tend to keep interrupting me while I'm trying to get ready for the day.

 

The amount of time its takes me to get ready is about 45 minutes, me taking my time, that's hair, makeup and getting dressed.

 But when my kids are constantly coming in and out of the bathroom, it takes like 2 hours I feel, because I have to keep starting back up again.

I love to get myself ready and my makeup on point. I take pride in my presence and I enjoy this time. Its my one thing!

 

So one day,

 I just had to figure out a solution because I could not get ready to save my life.

Since I have daughters, my solution has been to give them play makeup!

Omg this has been a life saver.

I had tried toys in the past but it didn't work like this does.

I set my girls in the bathroom with me, give them some old clean makeup brushes, pretend make I made for them and a mirror.

.

 

I simply went thru my makeup and pulled all the empty containers and cleaned them up.

I then added nail polish to the containers and let them dry for about a day.

I picked all the glittery colors too!

 

Once they were dry. I gave the girls these in an old makeup bag. Now they set in the bathroom with me and do their makeup. Its so peaceful and they are content for the amount of time I need to get ready.

 The best part is not only are they entertained but its now our time, our thing.

 They absolutely love this.

 

Plus they don't make a mess!! This makes a great gift as well.

For the record, I have a toddler 2 years old and she can't tell its fake

but my 5 year old does know its not real but I told her to play along just for the fun of the toddler and she does it.

She's a sport!!

Also when I get some time I want to try to clean out some mascara tubes and maybe some lip gloss.
I want to try to fill the lip gloss with a nail polish to make it look like a real one.
 If I do this I will blog about it or insert photos of the experience.
